Today, I met one of my old friends. The main reason is to take CAT5 cable with RJ45 from him since I have asked from him quite some time already, until I have forgotten about it. At the same I went to a shop to bind some notes on Joomla! and ZenCart.
Since we have not meet quite sometimes, we have some drinks and long chat. He then highlighted to me things related to websites and ranking in search engine. He wonder how come when he made a search on AVG anti-virus using some keywords, part of the results contain my personal website. Well, of course it is due to page rank and also the hits that my website received so far since it inception. So, I told him what I have found on that and I’m also trying to practice implementing all tips that I found to my new website at http://www.duitpoket.com
Here I’m going to share some of the tip related to Search Engine Optimization or in short SEO.
Basic SEO
- Insert keywords within the title
- Use same keywords as anchor text
- Make sure that the text within the title tag is also within the body of the page
- Do not use the exact same title tag on every page on your website
- Do not spam the description or keyword meta tag by stuffing meaningless keywords or even spend too much time on this tag
- Do not link to link-farm or other search engine unfriendly neighbourhoods
- Do not use doorway pages
- Title tags for text links
- Describe your images with the use of the alt tag
- Submit to the search engines yourself. Submission for google is at http://www.google.com/addurl.html
That’s all about the basic SEO that you need to know. At least try to comply with the basic and move further with more advance SEO later.
