A short trip to Alor Setar

Howdy All

Last weekend I went to Alor Setar to do some works and conduct training. Well, generally it is a good trip, met the objective.

I went there on Saturday early morning. This is my first ever trip early in the morning. The flight departed from LCCT at 7.15am, so I have to be there for check-in at least by 6.30am as the last 45min before the departure time, the check-in counter will be closed. Unfortunate we woke up late on that day. Everything is done in a rush. I arrived just in time at the airport. Run to the kiosk to do the check-in since I only have hand luggage but unfortunate it doesn’t work! I have to rush to the counter to do the check-in. Fuh! Luckily that it is still open. There are few passengers unable to get to their trip-flight since the check-in counter already closed, they arrived at the airport too late than the acceptable time frame.

The weather is fair from Kuala Lumpur to Alor Setar. We reached the Alor Setar airport on time. I’m not sure if there is anybody going to fetch me to the office. After taking a break, I decided to take a taxi and travel to the said shop. Interestingly, since they are new, they are not located within the shop are but housing area but they are operating well. Getting good business lately from the marketing done previously. Great job! So my work started.

For the night, I decided to go to a motel rather than a hotel since I just want to have a place comfortable enough for me to take a night break before continue my work tomorrow. Went out to have some light dinner around the place. Coincident that night has a football match between Selangor and Kedah. So people are watching the game while having their meal and drinks. I am not so interested since I still have more work to do for tomorrow.

The next day, which is also my last day, we started with training on the inventory module. I trained a handicap guy, Syahrir with some notes and showed him the program. He also entered at least 2 first invoices from supplier and created few new items into the system. There is a big challenge to the staff involve later - to enter new items into the system, there are over thousand of them from the latest list. Sorry, I can’t help since I’m back to KL already.

I returned to KL with a MAS night flight so that I can spend the whole working day to help them on the setup and training as well. Interestingly, over there, I can even check-in about 20-30min before the departure time. However, the flight delayed. The flight only landed at the Alor Setar airport at the time that it suppose to depart for my return. What the hack!

I saw there are players of Kedah, returning from KL after their football match at Shah Alam Stadium on board. There are also few aunties that required wheelchair also on board. So it takes sometime for the crews to get the flight ready for the next trip. We only left the airport about 10pm.

While on the way, it is almost 95% of the time we are required to fasten our seatbelt. This is due to turbulence on the way to KL. My sit is at the middle of the aircraft. I can hear sounds when the wheel of the aircraft is released from its place. Also sound from the engine. We also feel the aircraft shacking, which I believed because they pass through the clouds.

Finally, we landed safely at KLIA around 10.45pm and the aircraft needs about 10min to reach the terminal, so far! Once the door open, I quickly exit from the aircraft and have a quick walk to exit from the building as it is far away. My family already waiting for me in the car at the arrival area, outside of the terminal building. We reached home safely about 12 midnight.
