This morning, when I login to one of my Gmail accounts (yes, I have more than one Gmail account as I love the service very much), I saw and email with the sender name shown as Gmail Team and the subject is “IMPORTANT NOTICE“. Huh! What the hack is that? OK, here is the content of the email:

Your account has been randomly flagged in our system as a part of our routine security measures. This is a must to ensure that only you have access and use of your Google account and to ensure a safe Gmail experience. We require all flagged accounts to verify their information on file with us.

To confirm your account records click here : Account Management

After you verify your information, your account shall be returned to good standing and you will continue to have full use of your account.Please note that if you don’t verify your ownership of account in 3 x 24 hours we will block/susspend your Google account.

OK, first I tried to look at the link given and it shows this URL: http://www.uk-google.com/account/ I wonder, why the domain name started with “uk-” before the word “google”. The next thing, I have a check on the detail and here is the result:

Can you see what’s going wrong? Yes, the “mailed-by” suppose to show “google.com” and not that one. This indirectly shows that this is a pishing email, claimed to be from Gmail Team. This is just one of the way people is trying to steal our login information.

So, when you received this email, please delete it immediately and if you received similar email as this, please have a check to verify it before you do what they asked you to do. Don’t forget to report to Google about the pishing email. Let them know and they will take further action on that.

Hello All

Today, I met one of my old friends. The main reason is to take CAT5 cable with RJ45 from him since I have asked from him quite some time already, until I have forgotten about it. At the same I went to a shop to bind some notes on Joomla! and ZenCart.

Since we have not meet quite sometimes, we have some drinks and long chat. He then highlighted to me things related to websites and ranking in search engine. He wonder how come when he made a search on AVG anti-virus using some keywords, part of the results contain my personal website. Well, of course it is due to page rank and also the hits that my website received so far since it inception. So, I told him what I have found on that and I’m also trying to practice implementing all tips that I found to my new website at http://www.duitpoket.com

Here I’m going to share some of the tip related to Search Engine Optimization or in short SEO.

Basic SEO

1. Insert keywords within the title
2. Use same keywords as anchor text
3. Make sure that the text within the title tag is also within the body of the page
4. Do not use the exact same title tag on every page on your website
5. Do not spam the description or keyword meta tag by stuffing meaningless keywords or even spend too much time on this tag
6. Do not link to link-farm or other search engine unfriendly neighbourhoods
7. Do not use doorway pages
8. Title tags for text links
9. Describe your images with the use of the alt tag
10. Submit to the search engines yourself. Submission for google is at http://www.google.com/addurl.html

That’s all about the basic SEO that you need to know. At least try to comply with the basic and move further with more advance SEO later.
